Originally established years ago and beloved by locals for its convivial atmosphere and exceptional staff, Heart & Soul is under spirited new ownership, as Jeremy and Darcy Askegard took over in 2023.

Darcy hails from Seattle but brings a little Texas soul to Heart & Soul, having grown up in the Lone Star state. With 25 years visiting her mom in Cave Creek and sighting the charming saloon on her trips to town, Jeremy and Darcy envisioned putting their creative stamp on the place. Darcy has extensive hospitality experience running salons, and spas, in the past, and Jeremy brings his business sense and discipline having served in the Navy.

Jeremy and Darcy seek to carry on the warm, familial ambiance that the locals were used to, and yet also elevate offerings with their flair for style – think a 1950s motif by day, 1850s outlaw saloon by night complete with musicians tickling the ivories of the piano bar or live bands playing music of all eras suited for dancing, singing and enjoying the nightlife that Heart & Soul Café and Saloon has to offer. Quality entertainment and dining in a uniquely themed saloon is the vision. Both Jeremy and Darcy look forward to sharing this new hangout with the community they now call home. When not on site ensuring operations run smoothly, the couple enjoys precious time with their two young grandkids. Heart & Soul is very much a family affair.
